On 23rd May 2019 Wakefield Council declared a Climate Emergency and has pledged to become a Carbon Neutral Organisation by 2030 and district by 2038.

The UK’s current target is to become Carbon Neutral by 2050 but Wakefield Council recognises the value to go both further and faster to respond to the threat of climate change.

Sustainability is an increasingly important issue for many, especially when it comes to business, for businesses taking measures to go green is imperative.

Promoting environmental awareness and businesses sustainability is key to implement change both for local businesses across the Wakefield district and the planet.

We all play a part in making this happen and we want to support our businesses in the district to be as sustainable as possible regardless of business size which will in turn secure a better future for Wakefield and its residents and businesses.

We understand that for business owners this can be overwhelming…Join us for an inspirational morning as we break down barriers, promote the benefits of going green, showcase how to implement a sustainable business model & more! A small change can go a long way!
