LOCAL COUNCILS CAN HELP YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES UNLOCK GRANTS VIA GRANTfinder's FREE SUPPORT TOOL

Wakefield First the Business arm of Wakefield Council understand that local business are facing a challenging and uncertain time as we consider the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The dedicated Wakefield First team have been busy supporting local businesses helping them look towards the future, providing help and supporting businesses needs through accessing new markets, securing finance, unlocking government grants and skills to grow.

Now more than ever is the time for us to play our role in helping businesses navigate their way through turbulent time and guide them towards available funding.

Wakefield First are extremely pleased to announce that this process has been facilitated by GRANTfinder UK who have kindly offered local councils a six month’s free access to their portal support tool a fantastic tool which will help us support our local businesses at this crucial time.

This brand new portal will provide Wakefield First with a straightforward tool to promote available funding to local businesses to help them with their growth and resilience moving forward, this one-of-a-kind tool will allow signposting to new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily-accessed by local authorities who can filter the tool based on a business’s sector, region and size with clear guidelines on how to apply for various funding along with direct contacts of funders!

This new fantastic tool will be available until 31st October 2020, the Wakefield First Business Support team are extremely pleased about this announcement and encourage local businesses in the Wakefield district to seize this amazing opportunity.

Cllr Darren Byford, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Regeneration, is extremely pleased about this good news for local businesses.

Cllr Byford said: “I encourage businesses to please take advantage of this free, fantastic support.

“We understand that this has been an incredibly difficult time for many local businesses and this is a brilliant way of finding available funding to help them as they recover and restart from the coronavirus pandemic.

“We, and Wakefield First, are doing everything we can to support businesses across the district and will continue to do so for as long as they need.”
