Retail, hospitality and leisure businesses across Wakefield district will be able to soon apply for a one-off grant of up to £9,000 the Government has today announced.

Following the national lockdown beginning 05/01/2021 this news will be welcomed by Wakefield district’s businesses which have been impacted by the pandemic.

Applications are not yet open, and our website will be updated with the form once the grants are available.

One-off top-ups will be granted to closed businesses as follows:

 - £4,000 for retail, leisure and hospitality businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

- £6,000 for retail, leisure and hospitality businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000

- £9,000 for retail, leisure and hospitality businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

- Additional funding for none retail, leisure and hospitality businesses will be available through a discretionary fund, which will be announced shortly.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak also announced that a further fund would be made available to support business not eligible for the grants but that have been heavily impacted by the pandemic.  Again, once further information is provided by Central Government, we will update our website enabling businesses to apply for these grants.
