Tagtiv8 Limited – Making the City on the Up our Home

17 September 2021

Tagtiv8 provides schools with resources and training to help teachers take learning outside the classroom. They pride themselves on pioneering active learning with their unique “move and learn” approaches. They are now working - and playing - with more than 350 schools across the UK.

Think Tig/Tag Meets Scrabble & Countdown! Research demonstrates that their innovative approaches decrease sedentary time, increase levels of physical activity and improve standards in Mathematics.

With a background rooted in teaching and school leadership, Tagtiv8 founder and director, Bryn Llewellyn, relocated to the Wakefield district for an exciting new career opportunity with his family. Wakefield was an easy choice to relocate and base the business - with its blend of urban and rural landscapes.

Tagtiv8 first approached the Council looking for support with funding and our dedicated Wakefield First Business Support team looked tirelessly into what funding support we could provide the new business with! As always, we delivered through helping Tagtiv8 apply for two grants within the Gainshare programme.

Bryn Llewellyn commented: “It’s a struggle being a SME, especially during the past 18 months.”

“The online support - despite being bad for the eyes, the posture and the waistline - has been wonderful in terms of the support and connections.”

“With Gainshare Business, we now have high quality support for 18 months with a leading light in the Sport/PE franchising sector. Since starting, we have got our first licensee over the line - with more in the pipeline.”

“With Gainshare Digital, we have been able to put all our planning online so that it is more accessible for teachers. The web-based app format means that we can help save teachers time. This has been recognised by inspirational school leaders in Yorkshire, such as Chris Dyson

Wakefield has a great business community with lots of support from a variety of sectors. Bryn commented: “We have made connections with wonderful people within the area, keen for us to succeed. The Business Support team at Wakefield First have been instrumental in supporting us with Gainshare bids so we can grow the business sustainably”.

Tagtiv8 have also recently connected with another local education provider – Big Maths who have been so supportive of what they do and have helped them out with practical solutions! Other organisations who have helped indirectly are people such as: Throwback Coffee House, KRAFT Coffee, Jolly Taps, Westgate Studios, and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.”

It’s been an exciting journey so far for Tagtiv8 in Wakefield and we wish them all the best on their business growth journey! Watch this space…
