BUS SUPPLIER HIGHLIGHTS GROWING EV DEMAND

A West Yorkshire engineering company, which recently delivered a fleet of electric buses to Glasgow ahead of COP26, has highlighted growing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles.

Castleford-based Pelican Engineering supplied 55 zero emission electric Pelican Yutong buses to McGill's in Glasgow.

The 102-year-old family-owned business and is the sole UK and Ireland importer and distributor for China-based Zhengzhou Yutong Bus.

Managing director Richard Crump told Insider that the company and its customers were taking action to reduce carbon footprints.
