£6M SUPPORT PACKAGE LAUNCHED TO SUPPORT WEST YORKSHIRE START-UPS

08 November 2021

A £6m support package has been launched to help people from across Yorkshire to start a business.

Enterprise West Yorkshire has been officially launched by the mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin and Combined Authority in partnership with Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.

The programme, which forms part of the region's Covid-19 economic recovery plan, is open for applications from people at any stage of their start-up journey. It aims to help people explore self-employment as a career option and offers guidance and training to develop business ideas and set up a business.

The Combined Authority hopes the support will help increase the diversity of start-up business owners across the region and attract those most underrepresented including, women, ethnic minorities and those who identify as disabled.
