How you can put #WakefieldFirst

PPE Supply

Businesses all over the Wakefield district have answered the governments call to join the national effort for PPE. To allow us to continue to protect our frontline workers in the district, and help our hospitals prepare for the future, we want to hear from Wakefield businesses who can assist in our drive to equip our thousands of local health heroes to continue providing amazing care to our residents.

If you are a Wakefield business who can help, or want more information on how you can assist in this effort, contact Nick Jenkin on 07584 534 101 or email njenkin@wakefield.gov.uk.

Feeding the district

Throughout our district many of our residents require our support to continue feeding themselves and their family. Wakefield Council are working hard to feed our some of our most vulnerable residents and those who have hit financial hardship by delivering food parcels through our own foodbank.

While the number of those who need to help increases we need to be able to continue to supply our residents with nutritious food when they need it, while also helping to support local businesses affected by the crisis wherever we can.

If you are a business who can help us increase our supply chain or want to support ours, or other local foodbanks please get in touch with Nick Jenkin on 07584 534 101 or email njenkin@wakefield.gov.uk.

Getting our district back to work

There have been many support schemes announced by the government to help support our businesses during this time. Despite this some people in our district have found themselves out of work, and we at Wakefield council want to support our residents back into the workplace.

If your business is hiring and you want to discuss how we can help you please contact the Step Up team on 01924 303334

Giving back

Hundreds of charities across the Wakefield district have been hit by the Covid 19 crisis. These charities provide amazing support to our local communities and are relied upon by thousands of residents. You can help support these charities through this unprecedented time by donating to the #Wakefieldcares appeal. This appeal allows frontline charities supporting people in the local area to keep operating to provide these essential services. You can read more about the appeal here

If you are looking for more ways to support the district in these difficult times businesses and organisations can contact the Council by emailing communitysupportvolunteer@wakefield.gov.uk
