Engineering firm acquires historic Wakefield boiler manufacturer - anticipates £40m turnover
An engineering firm has acquired a Wakefield-based boiler manufacturing and repair company, marking expansion in the UK power and industrial markets.
Acquisition Details
According to the Wakefield Express, Staffordshire-based Ropsley Ltd, the holding company of PJD Mechanical Engineering, has acquired Green’s Power, a historic firm near Chantry Bridge in Wakefield.
Green’s Power, which invented the economiser in 1841, is now a global provider of heat transfer, economiser, and industrial boiler products.
Expansion and Integration
PJD Mechanical Engineering stated that this acquisition will expand its position as one of the largest independent groups in the UK power and industrial markets.
The combined team will include more than 250 specialists, with an expected annual turnover exceeding £40m.

Green’s Power, founded in 1821, has established itself as a global leader in boiler equipment and services.
