"I’m a contemporary artist based on the edge of Ackworth, where I draw inspiration from the surrounding countryside. I began painting professionally seven years ago, driven by a desire to connect deeply with nature and share its beauty through my art."
"My work focuses on creating textural pieces that foster a connection to the natural world. By using a palette of raw pigments and foraged materials, I aim to transcend the conventional boundaries between art and the landscape. In my paintings, natural elements collected from nature such as earth, chalk, and clay, combined with traditional artist's mediums, serve as visual representations of the relationship between humanity and the environment."
"I’m passionate about the creative process, my goal is to create work that resonates on a personal level, evoking a deeper connection to nature. Through my work, I aim to offer a moment of reflection in our fast-paced world."
"I was born in Wakefield, and over the years, I’ve developed a deep love for the area. There’s something special about the way Wakefield blends urban energy with the peaceful beauty of its surrounding countryside. The rich history, diversity of nature and the sense of community all make it a place that feels like home."
"Some of my favourite projects have been those where I’ve had the opportunity to deeply engage with the natural world and experiment with different materials. One standout project involved a series of textural pieces inspired by my local landscape. I used raw pigments and foraged materials to create work that connects the viewer to the natural elements. This project was especially fulfilling because it allowed me to merge my passion for nature with my creative process and push the boundaries of traditional painting techniques."
"Ultimately, my favourite projects are those that allow me to experiment, connect with others, and share the beauty of nature in ways that evoke an emotional response."
"Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue pushing the boundaries of my work, experimenting with new materials and techniques to deepen the connection between my art and the natural world."
"In the near future, I’m hoping to collaborate with other creatives, both locally and further afield, to open up new opportunities for shared experiences and fresh perspectives. Ultimately, I want my work to continue to inspire and provoke thought, inviting people to connect with nature and reflect on their relationship with the world around them."
