Wakefield Top 100

The Wakefield Top 100 Companies initiative aims to help shine a light on the fantastic businesses of Wakefield, promoting the district as a place to do business with unrivalled investment and growth opportunities.

Wakefield Top 100

The initiative is a joint project between Wakefield First as part of Wakefield Council, University of Huddersfield, and 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (3M BIC) and is designed to celebrate and measure business growth across the region.

Published annually every spring, the list is compiled by Huddersfield Business School, using a set of consistent metrics that include a combination of turnover, profit, employee numbers and growth. The data is derived from published company accounts of locally registered firms drawn from the Bureau Van Dijk - FAME database.

The official launch event for the inaugural Wakefield Top 100 List will take place on Wednesday 8th May 2024 at an exclusive invitation only event for businesses who are on the official list. The event will be hosted by partner organisations at the fantastic Tileyard North, a state-of-the-art creative industries hub, based at Rutland Mills Wakefield.

Councillor Michael Graham commented:

"The Wakefield Top 100 initiative will help showcase and celebrate the districts rich and diverse business community who are leading the way.

"The launch event will create a lasting legacy which we hope will be celebrated for years to come and will put Wakefield on the map as the place for business, investment and growth."
