THE FIRST WAKEFIELD DISTRICT FOOD SUMMIT EVENT

A free online workshop for businesses, community groups, organisations and charities with an interest in food and shaping the food system of the Wakefield District.

The focus of this event will be to begin a positive conversation around how we can all work together to create a healthy, sustainable and productive food system in the Wakefield District, that does as much good and as little harm as possible.

What is the Wakefield District Food Summit aiming to do?

Bring key people together to explore how we can ensure everyone in Wakefield District has access to high quality, sustainable food, to support the health, wealth and wellbeing of the district.

Who should attend?

Anyone with an interest in food and the wider food system of the Wakefield District is welcome to attend the summit, including:

• All food businesses active in the Wakefield District; such as food growers, producers, processors, distributers and suppliers.

• Charities and community groups whose activities involve food.

• Health professionals and those with an interest in how food shapes our health and wellbeing.

• People concerned about how food production, distribution and waste is impacting on climate change and the wider environment.
