Housing and care provider Mears Group has agreed a deal for office space at Calder Park in Wakefield.

The company has signed a nine-year lease with breaks at years three and six at a market moving rent for the first floor of Unit 5, Calder Close.

Sam Jamieson, of property consultancy Knight Frank in Leeds, who represented the landlord, said: "This is the second deal we have completed at Calder Park within the past two weeks, which is tremendous going and a resounding endorsement of a first-class business park.

"These are challenging times for everyone, because of Covid-19. But it is important to remember that deals are still being done and that the property market hasn't completely ground to a halt. This is an exciting move for the Mears Group and will enable them to expand their business in Yorkshire."

A representative from Mears Group added: "We are delighted to be moving into these high-quality offices, with ten secure parking spaces, in such as excellent location. The transport links, which are vital for a company like ours, are first-class with swift access to the M1 and Yorkshire's superb motorway network."

Calder Close forms part of the Calder Park Business Park at Junction 39 of the M1 motorway in Wakefield.

A representative of the landlord said: "As landlords, we are delighted that a company of the calibre and reputation of the Mears Group has chosen our development as their new office headquarters in Yorkshire. We wish them the best of luck."
