In recent years Global Doors have worked closely with the Wakefield First team, the business arm of Wakefield Council, and have received a great amount of support in particular in their business growth plans and recruitment.

Global Doors initially received a diagnostic from the Business Support team and were delighted to be referred to Leeds Beckett University as part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership, a partly government-funded programme to encourage collaboration between businesses and universities in the UK, which not only helped them realise their future growth plans but also ensured that the hard-working team were best placed to realise the plans and ensure all employee’s within the organisation were invested in this amazing programme.

Wakefield Council’s Employment Hub Team also played a crucial role in the growth and development for the manufacturing business from a recruitment perspective helping the business kick-start their recruitment journey around 12 months ago. This involved placing a participant onto a Chartered Institute of Management Degree Apprenticeship to work alongside the businesses operations director, helping them gain invaluable experience.

Global Doors have also worked proactively with the Employment Hub Team and invited them to their first ever Global Doors Expo. The Employment Hub Team held a very popular employee engagement session at the event. As part of the Expo collaboration Wakefield Council’s Adult Education Team specialising in training, and The West Yorkshire Consortium of College’s Skills Service spoke about the furniture manufacturing apprenticeships which allowed for the businesses fantastic employee’s to further their existing skills.

Global doors are currently advertising a digital marketing apprenticeship vacancy and a customer service apprenticeship vacancy in which the Employment Hub are assisting with.

Commercial Director of Global Doors Ltd Matthew Fletcher is delighted with the support the business has received from the Wakefield First Business support team
