10 November 2021

Wakefield-based Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), the largest independent bottler of Coca-Cola globally, will make an £11m investment over the next five years in a material handling equipment (MHE) fleet.

The fleet will include forklift trucks powered solely by renewable electricity. 76 MHE units are being introduced at the Wakefield site, which has used 100% renewable electricity for over 10 years and has already seen a 62% reduction in its carbon footprint since 2010.

The site, which produces 11,000 bottles and cans every minute, is home to a 500-strong workforce and has received £87m in investment since 2017. It currently operates ten manufacturing lines.
