PLANS LODGED FOR SPECULATIVE EMPLOYMENT UNITS IN WAKEFIELD

Detailed plans have been lodged for a speculative industrial development at an established business park in West Yorkshire.

St James Middle Park Ltd, supported by The Harris Partnership, has submitted a reserved matters application to Wakefield Council for development on a 2.7-acre site off The Wilfred bounded by existing industrial and trade park units as part of Silkwood Park.

Planning permission is sought for two units suitable for general industrial and storage and distribution uses.

A total of 42,000 sq ft of space would be created, with Unit 1 measuring 27,000 sq ft and Unit 2 15,000 sq ft.

The plans also include service yards for the units as well as car and cycle parking.

A design and access statement submitted as part of the application said: "The proposal aims to provide high quality employment spaces to rejuvenate the site and bolster the surrounding units.
