Wakefield First got in touch with Embers + Roots to find out more about the business and their fantastic range of candles, wax melts and more.

"Our business is called Embers & Roots and we make ethical home fragrance products including candles, reed diffusers and wax melts. We are passionate about fragrancing and carefully select those that reflect the change in season and rural area we live in. We want our customers to have a perfectly fragranced homes all year round. Did you know the first thing someone notices about your home when they enter is how it smells?"

"We chose Wakefield because of the beautiful pocket, rural villages and intoxicating views. We found the house of our dreams, which had a detached garage that we could develop in to Embers & Roots and decided to up root and start our family life here."

"Our best project to date is definitely our Christmas video. We did it back in 2021 and it was the most challenging project I have ever done. It was to bring awareness to homelessness during winter with our North Star candle. We were never going to rival the huge commercial brands, but as a small business I was very proud of what we achieved. We even made our own music for the video."

"We have a LOAD of Christmas products. It is my favourite time of year and naturally I gravitated towards designing festive candles. Our winter spice fragrance is a firm favourite with our customers at Christmas, along with gingerbread and spruce."

"We keep trying to grow and raise awareness of our small family business. Each year we look to develop our product range and bring new fragrances."
