Construction company invests in steel division

06 February 2024

Wakefield-based construction company Henley Group has invested £2.1m in a new steelwork division.

HZS Stainless Steel will manufacture stainless steel components such as brackets, restraints, and fixings for GRC (Glass-fibre Reinforced Concrete) projects.

It is expected to complement the group's established GRC cladding, stonework, and masonry offering, completed under its Henley Stone Specialists division.

Henley Group has acquired a 10,000 sqft factory in Ossett, located adjacent to J39 of the M1.

The group has invested £500,000 on equipment and machinery, including CNC machines, press brake folding machines and a laser cutter.

The new division will be headed up by Robert Gettings, recently appointed as project director. Gettings has more than 14 years' experience in the industry, and previously worked at Dalkia UK within EDF.

Gettings said: "I'm honoured to be heading up the new HZS division and leading an experienced team to deliver excellent manufactured components to site."
